Works on iPhone, Android and desktop. Public videos only.

Quality

Supported websites: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook. Videos up to 15 minutes are supported by the free downloader.

How to download a video from a link

Four steps, nothing to install and no account to create:

  • 1. Copy the video link — Open the public TikTok, Instagram or Facebook video, tap Share and copy the link — or copy it from your browser's address bar.
  • 2. Paste it into the downloader — Paste the link into the Video link box at the top of this page. The platform is detected automatically.
  • 3. Choose the available quality — Pick Highest available, 720p HD or 480p where the platform supports a choice. Instagram downloads always use the highest available version.
  • 4. Download the MP4 — Press Download MP4 and the file saves to your device's usual downloads location.

Supported websites

This online video downloader works with public videos from TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Instagram covers reels, video posts and IGTV links; Facebook covers public video posts, reels, watch links and fb.watch share links; TikTok covers standard video links as well as vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com short links.

YouTube is not supported by this downloader. If you uploaded a video to YouTube yourself, YouTube provides official ways to download it through YouTube Studio and Google Takeout. Other sites — including X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Vimeo, Twitch and ordinary web pages — aren't supported, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Download videos as MP4

Every download is delivered as an MP4 file, the format phones, computers, editing software and social platforms all accept without conversion. There's nothing to convert afterwards: open it in Photos, drop it straight into a timeline in CapCut, Premiere or Final Cut, or upload it as it is. This tool doesn't convert videos to MP3 or other formats.

Download videos on iPhone

Open this page in Safari, paste your link and tap Download MP4. Safari shows a download arrow near the address bar; tap it to open the Downloads list, then tap the file. It's saved in the Files app under Downloads (iCloud Drive or On My iPhone, depending on your settings).

To move the video into your camera roll, open it from Files, tap the Share icon and choose Save Video. It then appears in Photos.

Download videos on Android

Open this page in Chrome or your usual browser, paste the link and tap Download MP4. The browser saves the file to your Downloads folder and shows a notification when it finishes. Open it from the notification, from Files or My Files, or from your gallery app, which usually picks up new videos in Downloads automatically.

Download videos on desktop

On Windows or Mac, copy the video link from the address bar or the platform's Share menu, paste it here and click Download MP4. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari save the file to your Downloads folder unless you've asked the browser where to save each file.

Video quality

Where the platform supports it you can choose Highest available (up to 1080p), 720p HD or 480p, and 720p is selected by default because it's a good balance of clarity and file size. The quality you pick is a maximum, not a promise: the file you get is the best version that actually exists for that video.

Requesting a higher quality cannot create resolution that isn't in the source. If a video was only ever uploaded in 720p, that's what you'll receive — and we say so on the result rather than labelling it Full HD. Instagram downloads always use the highest available version, so there's no quality chooser for Instagram links.

Public videos only

The downloader only works with videos that are publicly viewable. Private accounts, friends-only posts, stories, paywalled or members-only content, age-restricted videos and anything behind a login can't be accessed, and nothing here attempts to bypass those restrictions. If a link doesn't open in a logged-out browser, it won't download here either.

Fair use and permissions

Only download material you own or have permission to use — your own posts, a video a client made for you, or a reference you've been given the go-ahead to use. Downloading a video doesn't give you rights to the content, the music or anyone's likeness in it, and reposting someone else's video as your own can breach both the platform's terms and copyright law.

You're responsible for making sure your use respects the creator's rights and the law where you live. This isn't legal advice; see our Fair Use & Downloads terms and speak to a professional if you're unsure.

Frequently asked questions

Is the online video downloader free?

Yes. Downloading is free with no account, trial or card details. There's a fair daily limit per person to keep the tool available to everyone.

Which websites are supported?

Public videos from TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Other websites, including YouTube, aren't supported by this downloader.

Can I download TikTok videos?

Yes. Paste a standard TikTok video link or a vm.tiktok.com / vt.tiktok.com short link. There's also a dedicated Free TikTok Video Downloader if that's all you need.

Can I download Instagram Reels?

Yes, for public reels, video posts and IGTV links. Instagram downloads use the highest available version, so there's no quality chooser for Instagram.

Can I download Facebook videos?

Yes, for public Facebook video posts, reels, watch links and fb.watch share links. Facebook downloads are prepared in the background, so you'll briefly see "Preparing your download…".

Can I download YouTube videos?

No. YouTube links aren't supported by this downloader. If you uploaded the video yourself, YouTube provides official ways to download your videos through YouTube Studio and Google Takeout.

Can I download videos as MP4?

Yes. Every download is an MP4 with sound, which works on phones, computers and in editing software without conversion.

What video quality can I download?

Up to 1080p where the source allows it, with 720p HD as the default and 480p available for smaller files. The final resolution depends on what the platform actually holds for that video.

Is there a length limit?

Videos up to 15 minutes are supported by the free downloader. Longer videos are declined before anything is prepared.

Why won't my video download?

The most common reasons are that the video is private, deleted, region-restricted or behind a login, that the link points at a profile or story rather than a video, or that the website isn't one of the three supported platforms. Check the link opens in a logged-out browser first.

Do you save the videos I download?

Rocket Reels doesn't save downloaded videos to your Rocket Reels account or media library. Temporary processing and download infrastructure is used to retrieve and deliver the file, and download links expire within an hour.
